Talk on "The New Academic Structure - Developing Human Resources required in the 21st Century and Helping Employers Recruit the Right Person for the Right Job"

Organiser: Education Bureau
Target:
Property Management Industry (employers, human resources managers, recruitment managers or executive personnel involved in recruitment, training & development, and talent management).
Introduction:
The New Academic Structure (NAS) has been implemented since 2009. Under the NAS, you will see graduates with greater learning agility and stronger transferable skills (e.g. critical thinking, creative thinking, self-learning, inter-personal skills). The first batch of graduates will take the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination in 2012. Very soon, employers will be receiving this new qualification - the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (HKDSE). The Civil Service Bureau has recently announced the acceptance of qualifications under the NAS for civil service appointment purposes. How are you, as employers, going to make reference to this qualification in setting entry requirements?

Highlights of the talk:
• How does the New Academic Structure develop human resources to
  meet the needs of employers?
• What do students learn in the New Senior Secondary (NSS) curriculum?
• How does NSS's Applied Learning courses prepare students for further
  studies and employment?
• How is this new qualification (HKDSE) different from the HKCEE and
HKALE qualifications under the old academic structure?
• How are you, as employers, going to make reference to this qualification
  in setting entry requirements?
• Apart from the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education, how does
Student Learning Profiles facilitate employers recruiting the right person
  for the right job?
