Welcome to the Overseas Visitors' Corner!

Hong Kong is an international city and an education hub attracting people from all over the world to work and live, and to study. Our schools are well known for high academic achievements and our tertiary institutions are reputable in research and teaching. International students are inspired by the rich cultural environment of HK, a city of equity and harmony where the East meets the West. They are right at the gateway to Mainland China, the booming country in the international arena. Likewise, our students enjoy the international exposure of going abroad to pursue studies and bring with them experiences of mixed cultural background, Chinese and cosmopolitan networks.

In 2009, Hong Kong started implementing the New Academic Structure (NAS) which represents a landmark in our education history. In providing an enabling environment for students to build a broader knowledge base and a more solid foundation for whole-person development and life-long learning, the NAS addresses the requirements of an increasingly diverse and complex environment. It provides multiple pathways for further studies and career development, which articulate well with international higher education and the ever-changing human resource requirements amidst globalisation, advent of information technology and development of a knowledge-based economy.

This Overseas Visitors' Corner would help you understand the NAS, and to assist you to meet your aspirations to study in Hong Kong or to receive our students who are ready to learn and contribute. As the information in this Corner presents only an overview, you are welcome to visit the New Academic Structure "334" Web Bulletin for more details and updates to keep abreast of the latest developments of the NAS and education system.
