Starting from 2012, some Mainland higher education institutions exempt Hong Kong students from attending the Joint Entrance Examination for Universities in the People's Republic of China (JEE) and consider their applications based on their HKDSE results. HKEAA has received positive response and recognition from the University Entrance Committee for Overseas Chinese Students, Taiwan regarding the qualifications of HKDSE holders. Hong Kong students will not be required to take additional examinations for admission and could be admitted by institutions based on the HKDSE results from 2012 onwards. The qualification of HKDSE has been widely accepted as credential for admission by international agencies, overseas universities and colleges.
