Song Title You're Almost There Staying Afloat Composer Mr NG Cheuk-yin Mr NG Lok-shing, Ronald Lyricist YUEN Ellen of Munsang College LAU Sin-ka of Diocesan Girls’ School Songs Link to Song Link to Song Introduction This motivational song, performed by KIM Ian of Ying Wa College, and TSANG Hui-lam and YUEN Ellen of Munsang College, is produced to cheer for the 2023 HKDSE Examination candidates. In preparation for this performance, a pop singing programme was offered to these students, the winners of the SOW Creative Singing Contest (SOW), to refine their singing skills under the guidance of a professional vocal coach. Ellen, who wrote the lyrics of the song, was also invited to participate in a lyrics writing programme conducted by a professional lyricist to enhance her lyrics writing skills.
SOW, jointly organised by the English Language Education Section and the Arts Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, the Education Bureau (EDB) in the 2021/22 school year, aimed to nurture students’ positive values and attitudes and support cross-curricular language learning. With the commissioned melodies provided by the EDB, student-participants wrote lyrics and performed their songs in English.This motivational song, performed by LAM Ka-yee of Belilios Public School, LAU Sin-ka of Diocesan Girls’ School and TANG Sum-yu of Henrietta Secondary School, is produced to cheer for the 2023 HKDSE Examination candidates. In preparation for this performance, a pop singing programme was offered to these students, the winners of the SOW Creative Singing Contest (SOW) and the Creating • Appreciation • Performing Music Competition (CAP), to refine their singing skills under the guidance of a professional vocal coach. Sin-ka, who wrote the lyrics of the song, was also invited to participate in a lyrics writing programme conducted by a professional lyricist to enhance her lyrics writing skills.
CAP and SOW were two competitions organised by the Arts Education Section and the English Language Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, the Education Bureau (EDB) in the 2021/22 school year to nurture positive values and attitudes in students and support cross-curricular language learning. With the commissioned melodies provided by the EDB, student-participants wrote lyrics and performed their songs in Cantonese, Putonghua or English for CAP, and wrote lyrics and performed their songs in English for SOW.
Song Title 《無關不過》 Composer Mr NG Cheuk-yin Lyricist YUNG Shing-hin of Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School Songs Link to Song Introduction This motivational song, with lyrics written by YUNG Shing-hin of Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School and singing performed by CAI Ka-chun of Henrietta Secondary School, LAM Fung-yuen of Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School and TSANG Tsz-yan of Ho Lap College (Sponsored by Sik Sik Yuen), is produced to cheer for the 2023 HKDSE Examination candidates. In preparation for this performance, a pop singing programme was offered to the singers, the winners of the Creating • Appreciation • Performing Music Competition (CAP), to refine their singing skills under the guidance of a professional vocal coach whereas Shing-hin was invited to participate in a lyrics writing programme conducted by a professional lyricist to enhance his lyrics writing skills.

Song Title 自強不息 Timeless Composer Mr NG Lok-shing, Ronald Mr NG Cheuk-yin Lyricist YUNG Shing-hin of Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School WONG Yu-sheung of Henrietta Secondary School Songs Link to Song Link to Song Introduction This music video features the performance of LAM Fung-yuen of Cheung Sha Wan Catholic Secondary School, who won the Outstanding Award in the Creating • Appreciation • Performing Music Competition (CAP) with the song《自強不息》, together with the lyricist. To further develop his musical talents, he was offered an opportunity to join a pop singing programme to refine his singing skills under the guidance of a professional vocal coach.
